BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) is the National Standard Body of India for the harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality registration of consumer products. There are various Electronic and IT products, notified by Govt. of India, which require to be labeled with BIS Standard Safety mark before importing or selling in Indian market.
The BIS Compulsory Registration Scheme – (BIS-CRS) is required for various IT and Electronic products. The BIS-CRS is obtained after the product's safety testing has passed and it has been furnished with all required documents, as determined by the Bureau of Indian Standard.
