Exempted Products List

If you are manufacturing or importing the products covered by the BIS Compulsory Registration Scheme and if your product meets at least one of the following criteria:

Operates on a Three-phase power supply
Operates on a Single-phase power supply with a current rating exceeding 16 Amperes
Has dimensions exceeding 1.5 meters x 0.8 meters
Has a weight exceeding 80 kilograms, and if they are importing or manufacturing fewer than 100 units per year

In such cases as mentioned above, the BIS Certification will not be applicable for your product. For instance, if you are importing a 65” LED TV with dimensions exceeding 1.5m x 0.8m and the quantity is less than 100 units per year, BIS Registration will not be applicable for this product. You will only need to provide a "Self Declaration" letter to customs for clearance.
