Validity and Renewal

The Scheme-X Certificate is initially granted for a period ranging from three to six years. Upon expiration, BIS license may be renewed for an additional term of three to six years. It's important to note that the certificate of conformity applies strictly to a specific product prototype, lot, or batch and does not authorize continuous production of similar products.

To apply for license renewal, the licensee must submit an application to the Bureau at least two months prior to its expiration, using Form-VII as specified in this Scheme. The Bureau will then process the renewal application and issue the renewed license using Form-VIII in accordance with Regulation 8 of the relevant regulations.
