BEE Registration for LED Lamps falls under Standards: IS 16102 Part 2, IS 16106 and 14700 (Part 3 / Sec 2), Schedule - 20. The schedule specifies the energy labeling requirements for self-ballasted non-directional general purpose LED lamps for general lighting services working on single phase AC up to and including 250V. This schedule does not covers self-ballasted LED-lamps that intentionally produce tinted or colored light neither does it cover OLEDs. BEE Registration is a must for all the manufacturers, who want to avail the BIS approval mark license from BIS. The BIS approval mark license is valid for a period of 5 years from the date of issue of certificate of registration by BEE. BEE has also notified that all applications for BIS registration of self-ballasted LED lamps shall be submitted along with data as specified in IS 16102 Part 2.The BIS will scrutinize the application and shall register the product if it satisfies all the requirements of notified Indian Standard(s). The registered products shall be included in BIS product certification scheme and shall be issued.
