Guidelines for Implementing Revised IS 16333 (Part 3): 2022

In response to the revision of the Indian Standard for 'Mobile Phone Handsets Part 3 Indian Language Support for Mobile Phone Handsets – Specific Requirements (First Revision),' designated as IS 16333 (Part 3): 2017, a set of guidelines has been issued for the implementation of the revised standard, now published as IS 16333 (Part 3): 2022. The deadline for concurrent running of both standards has been extended until 17 December 2022. After this date, the existing IS 16333 (Part 3): 2017 will be withdrawn. Currently, there are more than 240 licenses for products under Scheme II of Schedule II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. This update reflects a systematic transition to an updated standard, ensuring that mobile phone handsets comply with the latest specifications and reinforcing the commitment to quality and conformity within the industry.
