Extension Order for Medical Textiles - Bedsheet and Pillow Cover

The Department of Consumer Affairs, in alignment with the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules of 2018, has issued a circular detailing amendments to IS 17630:2021 concerning Medical Textiles — Bedsheet and Pillow Cover — Specifications. This update, effective from June 20, 2024, extends the applicability of the existing standard until September 19, 2024. During this period, manufacturers and stakeholders are expected to comply with the revised specifications outlined in the amended IS 17630:2021. The extension allows for a transitional phase before the amended standard becomes mandatory, ensuring continuity and adherence to updated quality and safety measures in medical textile production.
