In response to an email received on May 4, 2024, from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Ministry has decided to extend the deadline for filing quarterly and annual returns under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022. The CPCB received representations from industry associations requesting additional time to file these returns. Originally, the deadline for submitting quarterly and annual returns for the financial year 2023-24 was set for April 30, 2024. The CPCB requested that this deadline should be extended to accommodate the needs of the registered entities. This extension period will also allow for the generation and transfer of EPR Certificates on the EPR portal. After careful examination of the matter and in accordance with Rule 9A of the E-Waste (Management) Amendment Rules, 2024, the Ministry has approved the extension. Now, registered entities have until June 30, 2024, to file their annual and quarterly returns for the financial year 2023-24. Refer the document for more information:
